It’s holiday time, winters are here! This is the most lovely time of the year and I’m sure you want to enjoy it to the fullest as well. But, with the winters, comes stress and sickness. Many people fall victim to the common cold, fever, or cough. So it becomes even more important to strengthen your immune system. 

The immune system works like a military force inside your body that fight and defend against health problems. Having a strong immune system is important for your body to fight viruses, allergies, and other health enemies around you (I wish it could fight my exams too). Your body becomes vulnerable to these viruses and allergies if your immune system is weak. So, here’s a list of tips you can follow to make your immune system strong.

1. Sleep is Very Important

Maybe you have a busy schedule, due to your work. Or you just enjoy partying too much. Either way, it can lead you to compromise with your sleep. That’s where the trouble begins. Not having proper sleep can have catastrophic effects on your health, especially on your immune system. Lack of sleep can reduce the production of antibodies, making your immune system weak. It is time to reconsider your schedule and make some changes in your lifestyle. You must sleep for 8-9 hours per day, and if it’s not possible for you due to your busy schedule, try taking some power naps during the day.

2. Give Importance to Hygiene

Whether you are a male or a female, maintaining proper hygiene is crucial for you. This small care can make all the difference. If you live in an unhygienic environment, your body becomes prone to health issues. And it’s not like you have to work a lot to maintain your hygiene. Just take a few simple and basic steps like:

This results in making your immune system strong. And remember, keep hydrating yourself while your exercising. This is important to flush out all the toxins from your body and helps your body absorb minerals and vitamins from your diet.

5. Smoking Can Be Your Worst Enemy

There are a lot of health problems associated with smoking that can make your immune system weaker. Smoking also reduces the power of antibodies during the defense against outer threats. It can rip up the soft tissues, making you more vulnerable to infections. It can be quite hard to quit smoking if you have an addiction but this is something you have to work on. People who have social anxiety tend to isolate themselves from the world. Many studies show that this can affect your immune system too. Stepping out of isolation can improve your immune system. Just meet your friends or relatives, go out on a walk and meet new people. Crack jokes and watch a live stand up with your friends. Humor can have a positive effect on your immune system. And always carry a positive attitude.
